Hoffman WEATHERFLO VFD Enclosures for Thermal Protection
The Hoffman WEATHERFLO VFD Enclosure
Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) keep industry in motion. Hoffman WEATHERFLO VFD Enclosures deliver active heat ventilation reducing heat buildup and VFD failure.
The Hoffman WEATHERFLO VFD Enclosure provides heat ventilation for a VFD cooling solution that reduces heat to optimize Variable Frequency Drive Efficiency and reduce failures. Hoffman’s WEATHERFLO outdoor enclosure uses forced-air ventilation and shielded impellers allowing VFD enclosure ventilation for outdoor applications where solar heat and heavy moisture are factors. Forced-air ventilation pulls in ambient air at the enclosure bottom and exhausts hot air out the top. In colder environments, Hoffman heater products guard drives from damage due to cold starts. An adjustable thermostat (70˚-140˚F) starts the fan when needed.
Dissipation of solar heat within VFD outdoor enclosures is impacted by the enclosure’s interior and exterior surface color and material.
WEATHERFLO enclosures are NEMA Type 3R compliant, standards which ensure VFD protection in a wide range of harsh outdoor applications including irrigation, pulp and paper, water and wastewater, oil and gas, mining, boring and HVAC. WEATHERFLO also complies with the ASHRAE 90.1-2004 energy code requirement.
Weather Resistant VFD Enclosure: a Complete Solution
Hoffman WEATHERFLO enclosures are weather and corrosion-resistant, protecting industrial motors and controls with heavy-duty aluminum construction and stainless mesh screens on the top and base. This guards against debris and animal entrance, and a reflective white polyester finish reduces solar absorption by 75%.
